East Harlem, also known as Spanish Harlem or El Barrio, has a good deal of culture and a real neighborhood feel. The neighborhood stretches from 96th to 125th Street between 5th and 1st Avenues on the East Side. Predominantly Spanish speaking, East Harlem is a very tightly knit community where people sit outside watching life go by and catching up with their neighbors.

If you are tired of high rent fees and tiny downtown-apartments then your choices should included the Inwood neighborhood. You not only have rental possibilities, but you may also be able to afford to buy an apartment here, in the place of the transparent sky. Inwood is located between the Hudson and Harlem Rivers, just north of Fort Tryon Park and the Cloisters medieval museum. Inwood has always been attractive to those seeking lower-priced housing and a slice of nature in Manhattan. The neighborhood feels almost isolated from NYC, since it’s distanced from the stresses downtown and close to many beautiful natural parks. It is filled with artists moving from Chelsea and the West Village, where the rent-prices are far higher.
